Freitas Trenchless & Plumbing

Jetting · cable cutting · descaling

Clear the line.
Then find out why.

Cabling opens a hole through a blockage. Jetting scours the pipe wall back to bare material. For grease in a commercial line or scale in old cast iron, that difference is the difference between next week and next year.

  • High-pressure jetting cuts grease, scale, and root mass from the full pipe wall
  • Rotating cable cutters and descaling heads for hardened cast-iron buildup
  • Scheduled maintenance programmes for restaurants and multi-unit buildings
  • Camera pass afterwards, so a recurring blockage gets a cause and not just a clearing

Fit

When this is the right call,
and when it isn’t.

Selling you the wrong method is how a job comes back. Here is where this one genuinely wins, and where we will tell you to spend the money differently.

Right for

Restaurant and commercial kitchen lines

Grease loading that cabling cannot touch. Scheduled jetting is far cheaper than an emergency shutdown at service.

Scaled cast-iron stacks and mains

Descaling restores lost diameter in buildings where the pipe itself is still sound.

Root mass in a line you intend to line

Jetting is the required preparation before any CIPP installation.

Annual maintenance on known problem lines

Where replacement is planned but not yet budgeted, scheduled jetting keeps the building running.

Not the right call for

Structurally failed pipe

Jetting a collapsed or badly cracked line can make it worse. That is why we camera before deciding.

A line that backs up every few months

Repeat clearings on the same line are a symptom. Ask for the footage and fix the cause.

Method

How the work
actually runs.

No surprises on the day. This is the sequence, start to finish.

Confirm the pipe can take it

A quick camera pass tells us whether the line is sound enough to jet safely.

Clear the blockage

Cable cutting or jetting, matched to what is actually in the pipe.

Scour the wall

Jetting nozzles or descaling heads restore the full interior diameter, not just a channel through the middle.

Camera and advise

A post-clean pass shows the true condition, and whether you are looking at maintenance or a repair.

Why trenchless wins here

The restoration is
the real cost.

Same property, same failed line, two methods. Drag to compare what each one leaves behind.

Open-cut Trenchless

The same property and the same failed sewer line, repaired two ways. Open-cut removes 58 linear feet of driveway and landscaping over four to seven days. The trenchless method replaces the same line through two small access pits in a single day, leaving the surface untouched.

Questions

Drain Cleaning & Hydro Jetting:
what people ask.

Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?

In sound pipe, yes, and we adjust pressure to the material. In pipe that has already failed structurally, it is not, which is exactly why we camera first rather than jetting blind.

How often should a restaurant jet its lines?

It depends on volume and menu, but quarterly is a common starting point for a busy kitchen, adjusted after we see how quickly the line loads up.

My line backs up every year. Is jetting the answer?

Jetting will clear it again. But an annual backup means there is a defect, usually root intrusion or a belly, and you are paying for the same clearing forever instead of once for the fix.

Next step

Start with footage.
Then decide what it needs.

Every Freitas job begins with a camera survey, because a five-figure repair decision should be made from evidence rather than from a guess at the cleanout. Tell us what the property is doing and we will take it from there.

  • Camera survey before any recommendation, every time
  • Written scope with each viable method priced side by side
  • Your own copy of the footage, whoever you hire
  • One licensed in-house crew, never subcontracted
